Why Join

The Cherokee National Forest is the heart of our region’s outdoor economy—drawing visitors who hike, hunt, fish, camp, ride, paddle, and explore. Those visitors stay in local campgrounds, cabins, lodges, and other accommodations, dine in local restaurants, and shop in nearby stores.

By becoming an Organizational Member of Friends of the Cherokee National Forest (FOCNF), your business helps sustain the forest that sustains our community.

  • Support stewardship of public lands that attract customers to our region.
  • Demonstrate your commitment to conservation and community leadership.

Be recognized as a valued partner in caring for the forest we all share.

What We Do

FOCNF is a nonprofit partner of the U.S. Forest Service. We bring together volunteers, businesses, and community members to:

  • Maintain and replace signage, improve trails, and maintain recreation areas.
  • Restore native habitats and protect clean water.
  • Engage students and volunteers in hands-on conservation.

Strengthen partnerships that connect people to the forest.

Why Your Support Matters

Your membership helps fund on-the-ground projects, volunteer coordination, and education programs. It also allows us to leverage grants and partnerships that multiply the impact of every dollar contributed.

Together, we ensure the Cherokee National Forest remains a vibrant, healthy landscape and a cornerstone of the local economy for generations to come.
